Adopt-a-Monday: Feed the City, One Night at a Time

INTRODUCING ADOPT A MONDAY: A New Way for Businesses to Make an Impact

At Monday Night Hospitality, we’re committed to serving meals every Monday, no matter what—through snowstorms, holidays, and even the pandemic. For over four decades, we’ve kept that promise, serving 400–450 neighbors each week with dignity, warmth, and care. Now, local businesses have a new way to help keep that promise.

We’re launching Adopt-a-Monday, a sponsorship program that invites local businesses to cover the full cost of dinner for an entire Monday night service. For $2,000, your business can ensure that every guest who walks through our doors receives a hot meal and the dignity of a welcoming community.

When you adopt a Monday, we’ll recognize your business with appreciation on our social media channels and website. And if your team volunteers on your sponsored night, we’ll share photos of your crew in action—celebrating your hands-on commitment to our neighbors.

Adopt-a-Monday offers businesses a tangible, heartfelt way to address food insecurity in New York City while demonstrating community leadership and engaging employees in meaningful volunteer work.

Growing Need, Growing Impact

A year ago, Monday Night Hospitality served about 350–375 guests each Monday evening. Today, we welcome 400–450 neighbors seeking a warm meal and a place of dignity—that’s nearly a 20% increase. Across New York City, the strain on our emergency-food system is clear: visits to food pantries and soup kitchens have more than doubled compared to pre-pandemic levels, and in a recent quarter alone more than 8 million visits were recorded. The need has never been greater.

The impact on families has been especially pronounced. Pantry and soup-kitchen use among households with children remains roughly twice what it was before the pandemic. We’re also seeing more seniors on fixed incomes, more working parents, and more neighbors from every walk of life turn to community meals when times are tough.

Here at Monday Night Hospitality, we’re doing everything we can to meet this moment. Our volunteers prepare hundreds of hot, nutritious meals every Monday—every Monday, no matter what. Our doors remain open to everyone who needs us, no questions asked. But as the need grows, so does the urgency for community support.

There is hope—because of you. Whether you give your time, make a donation, or simply spread the word about our work, your support helps ensure that every neighbor who walks through our doors leaves nourished, valued, and cared for.

Together, we can face this challenge and build a stronger, more compassionate New York City for all.
